One of my New Year Resolutions is to cut back on a few little pleasures. One of them being cream in my coffee.
I realized during the holidays I was drinking three cups of coffee a day along with almost a half cup of half & half. That’s a lot of calories and fat. Did I really need it? Not to mention the cost. Coffee is slowly creeping up there in price along with cream. Maybe I’ll kill two birds with one stone?
There’s no way on God’s green Earth I was going to willingly give up coffee all together. So, I decided to try to go black.
gasp! How can you drink it black? I can never give up cream. Doesn’t it taste bad? I can’t do bitter. Ugh! Don’t think I would ever be that desperate!!
Well, it’s been a little more than a week and, so far . . . so good!
I’m down to just one cup a day, the coffee stays hotter longer, and I’m down a couple more pounds. The wallet is also happy I’m extracting $12 less a week from it (Chris is still drinking it regular) and my nerves do not feel so shot. And that sudden caffeine crash I always experienced at 2 or 3? Gone.
And, did you know coffee has some intensely rich flavors? I never knew!
